Head to the Mar Vista Art Walk which runs along Venice Blvd., from Inglewood Blvd – Grand View Blvd hosted by Rising Sons Independent. Bring your furry friend to the VCA Animal Hospital during Art Walk for “Yappy Hour”! Pet-themed mocktails and snacks will be served and the Nepal Art Dogs project will display their micro finance, fair trade art that supports the disappearing art of Danger Dog signboards in Nepal. “Danger Dogs – Folk Art from the Himalayas” is the creation of Michelle Page of Santa Monica, who became intrigued by hand-painted metal “Beware of Dog” signs adorning gates in Nepal. Another in Santa Monica…ARENA 1 Gallery holds an artist reception for “THE ART OF THE COOKS OF PEACE PRESS.” The month-long exhibition celebrates the 50th anniversary of a unique collaboration in Los Angeles of artists and activists at Peace Press that from 1967 -1987 created a space for free expression for hundreds of activist organizations and artists when no commercial printers would publish their anti-establishment materials.
