Labor Day weekend is here. We have all worked our butts off and its time to relax…This holiday weekend, spend some quality time with your family. or friends. Unlike previous Labor Day weekends, this year several art galleries are hosting art parties. So if you are in town, be sure to check them out. See below for our staff picks!
If you are planning a weekend getaway…might I suggest San Diego? My husband Rich and I stayed at a fantastic airbnb in San Diego. CLICK HERE to read my review on our sister site EatTravelGo.com. Located in Little Italy, the art filled loft offered amazing views. CLICK HERE to read my Happy Hour article about the area. If you want to stay local, visit our ‘We Love LA’ Page in the Stories Section of ETG. You may also enjoy the ‘Explore’ Page in the Destinations Section.
Music soothes the soul….so attend a concert or two. The Weeknd is set to perform at Sofi Stadium on Sept 2 & 3, 2022, as part of the “After Hours Til Dawn” Tour. Special guest Doja Cat opens the show. You may enjoy these holiday weekend events – Malibu Chili Cook-off (Sept 2-5), and Fiesta Hermosa (Sept 3-5).
Then Saturday an all day opening will be held at Jeffrey Deitch’s original LA Gallery. Other art parties celebrate openings in the afternoon/evening at Veilmetter Los Angeles, Nicodim Gallery, Wonzimer Gallery, Thinkspace Projects, along with an art opening on Sunday September 4, at Matter Studio Gallery.
There’s more music on September 4, the Americana in the Park series kicks off at Gandara Park. The Mount Wilson Observatory hosts a music event – this is a fantastic venue. We have been featuring the Sunday Afternoon Concerts in the Dome series…for quite some time now. This Sunday, take in some Jazz with Michael Valerio (bass) & friends.
