USC Poetry Reading – Jasper Johns: A Tour of the Imagination. Organized by award-winning poet Carol Muske-Dukes, professor of English at the University of Southern California, this special one-night public reading is The Broad’s contribution to National Poetry Month.

As part of a USC graduate course entitled “A Tour of the Imagination,” each of Muske-Dukes’ current PhD students will read poetry that they have crafted. In Boyle Heights…Corey Helford Gallery is proud to premiere Canadian artist Camilla d’Errico’s “Sky” for the first time in Gallery 1. This will be d’Errico’s largest showcase with the gallery to date, featuring 15 new paintings, 15 ink drawings, and even an installation of the artist’s extensive collection of limited edition accessories, decor, and homegoods. For their debut solo show at CHG, the Dosshaus duo transforms Gallery 2 into a flophouse hotel featuring a lobby, hotel bar and four rooms, all made entirely out of cardboard. The hotel’s “paper-thin” walls provide no illusion of privacy and offer a voyeuristic peek into the lives of its denizens. “There is joy in every meticulous detail on view, and one is free to lose themselves, albeit momentarily, in a fantasy land devoid of the real-world trappings of politics, judgment, and consequence,” says Dosshaus. “We’re clearly enamored with the hotel dwellers we’ve created.” In gallery 3, enjoy works by Alessia Iannetti, Erika Sanada and Tarntara Sudadung curated by Caro Buermann.
