It’s the final day of BE STREET WEEKND L.A at the Container Yard…straight from Paris. The event features two days celebrates the multifaceted world of street culture.

This weekend marks the arrival of the publication in the United States and a chance to experience this hybrid festival where art meets music meets style meets skateboarding. After several European editions attracting tens of thousands of people, we are about to conquer the States with this unique concept reuniting pop-up store, live gigs, installations, exhibitions, performances, activities, street food and a skatepark.

At the Ivan Gallery, enjoy new works by Barbara Mendes in an exhibition titled “BOOK OF DANIEL” & “BEYOND TO SHEKHINA.”

The artist will explain narratives and visions in the Book of Daniel, by taking viewers through the painting. Six months in the making, “The Book of Daniel” by Barbara Mendes weaves all twelve chapters (six narrative, six visionary,) in the Biblical narrative into a 48 inch square mystic wheel.

The Upper West

Resonate LA presents Summer of Soul Art Exhibition at the Upper West. Resonate LA’s Summer of Soul is a three month event including Soul Music, Soul Food, Soul Mates and Soul Revolution. Neon green sunglasses have become the icon of this summer in Santa Monica. They are not only Resonate LA’s logo for Summer of Soul, but also an 8 by 8 foot interactive sculpture that appears weekly at Santa Monica’s Twilight Pier Concerts.

The art event will showcase 100 local artists’ sunglass themed creations. Each canvas will be available for a $99 donation. Donations will be split between Resonate LA’s Art Outreach and Compassion International. First come, first serve! The Upper West’s patio doors will open at 4pm sharp. Art will be flying off the wall.

Come hungry to enjoy The Upper West’s delicious beverages and cuisine. 30% of all food and beverage purchases will be generously donated by The Upper West! Summer of Soul Art Exhibition will be on display in the front room of Upper West; on view in the main dining room is the art of Gregg Chadwick. The event will benefit Resonate LA Art Outreach and Compassion International.
