BAM Fest celebrates the best of locally-produced art and music in conjunction with a variety of delicious craft beers. With 35-plus craft breweries, 4 bands, 3 galleries, open artist studios, an artist market, and gourmet food trucks, BAM Fest is well equipped to draw record-breaking crowds in its third year as one of the West Sides’ most anticipated festivals.

In addition, artworks are available for purchase at an artist marketplace organized by past 18th Street Artist Fellow, Ana Guajardo, and the resident artists who live, work and create daily at 18th Street open their studios for attendees to experience works in progress.

Tobey C. Moss Gallery holds an opening as part of the art walk featuring artists, Nicholas Brigante and Werner Drewes. Spanning the 1920’s to 1980’s, both Brigante (1895-1989) and Drewes (1899-1985) expressed their abstract visions through various media including watercolors, collages, prints and paintings.

Topanga Canyon Gallery celebrates a new group exhibition entitled “Photo Glass Paint” from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

TopangalogoOne of the featured artists, Karrie Ross will showcase her newest show “My Trees Talking.” Also on view will be works by Farideh Azad and Felice Willat.

For this exhibition, Ross offers 100 pen & ink drawings which will be available for sale and a select few will be displayed as framed originals, giclee reproductions and as greeting cards.

Also on display you’ll see the series bustier, two table-top size tree sculptures, a 60 x 48 Tree painting and a few smaller art pieces to balance it all out. My Trees Talking, And they are Speaking Haiku! is a book that partners 80 (of the 100) whimsical pen & ink tree drawings with a haiku. The book along with the original drawings matted with a select few framed; a 60×48 painting, two table-top assemblage “tree” sculptures and a variety of smaller paintings will be in the exhibition.

TAG Gallery holds an opening reception for artists Joe Pinkelman and Anne Ramis. Pinkelman continues a series of work he first developed in Jingdezhen, China. The city has had a significant impact on his work, particularly through his experiences at the Jingdezhen ceramic residency, Pottery Workshop.

Artist Anne Ramis’s work explores photo manipulation and digital media. Collecting vintage photographs from books and finding inspiration from such dancing legends as Isadora Duncan and Tamara Karsavina, Ramis’s mixed media works communicate liveliness over the static pose
