Earth Day Expo features interactive stations throughout the Zoo providing guests an opportunity to explore information and ideas about animal conservation and preservation, sustainable living for humans, recycling, and how to make Earth a better place to live. All activities are free with paid Zoo admission.

All Earth Day Expo activities are included with paid admission to the Los Angeles Zoo, which is $18 for adults, $13 for children 2-12, $15 for seniors 62 and up. Admission is free for GLAZA members and children under two.

POW Altervision BreweryARtWalkThe Brewery ArtWalk hosts its annual open studio weekend at the worlds largest art complex. With over 100 participating resident artists, you will have the opportunity to see new works, discover new favorites, speak with the artists and purchase artwork directly from the artists’ studios. Born on the site of the Pabst Blue Ribbon Brewery, the Brewery Arts Complex began in 1982 and is the largest complex of its kind in the world.

For the spring open studio weekend at the Brewery Arts Complex, artists open their studios to display new works. Attendees can speak with the artists and purchase artwork directly from the studios.

Get there early…there is lots to see…unless you have two days spend at the Brewery….there are soo many great studios down there.  The artwalk continues tomorrow as well.

In Hollywood…

It’s the 2nd (official) day of ParParisphotologois Photo Los Angeles. This is the second US edition of the world’s most celebrated photography fair, will present exhibitor content by 81 international galleries and bookseller participants. Concurrently, many significant exhibitions that resonate with the spirit of Paris Photo Los Angeles will also be on view in and outside of the city.

For Paris Photo’s second edition in Los Angeles, BMW is proud to present the 850CSi Art Car by David Hockney. Almost 20 years after its creation in 1995 the Art Car returns to its roots in LA, the city that has been Hockney’s hometown for more than 40 years.

Leica Camera’s Celebration of 100 Years of Photography: Leica’s booth will feature rare classic black and white photographic prints from the Classic Leica Collection including Magnum photographers Henri Cartier-Bresson, Sebastio Salgado, Constantine Manos, Rene Burri and other masters which will represent the “Then.” These prints will transition into digital medium format large scale color prints by EJ Camp from her body of work entitled “SEA” which will represent the “Now.” Lise Sarfati will do a book signing of her new book SHE on Friday.

Sat-May10-WordisARTShe also works in paper clay as a medium to achieve 3-dimensions in her art pieces. Favorite elements to work in are trees, water and eyes. She thinks of her art as microcosmic worlds that live in her subconscious.

Artistically her art evolves from black and white almost structural sketches to more organic and flowing sketches with several stops to dabble in other mediums and styles along the way. She studied at Hood College and George Washington University.
