The George Billis Gallery  celebrated two artists Paul Pitsker, and Lisa Golightly on November 21, 2020. Both exhibitions run through January 2, 2021.

“It’s All Arranged” is the gallery’s third solo exhibition of watercolor paintings by Paul Pitsker. The artist’s watercolor paintings combine the tradition of still life with narrative elements exploring themes of confinement, thwarted yearning and looming disaster, subjects that are now too familiar to all of us whose lives have been upended by the coronavirus pandemic.

“Marking Time” is the gallery’s second solo exhibition of works by Portland-based realist painter Lisa Golightly. The starting place for Golightly’s work is decades old found photos. The stillness of a photo belies an anticipation to know what happened before and what is to come next. These images are a literal look back but also force the viewers to evaluate the present and future.
