Gallery Association Los Angeles (GALA) is pleased to announce the inaugural edition of Gallery Weekend Los Angeles, running from July 28 to August 1, 2021. Over 70 local galleries and art spaces will participate in the initiative. It is locally organized and dedicated to the impact that Los Angeles-based galleries contribute towards the city’s cultural community.

Gallery Weekend Los Angeles is sponsored by Snap, Inc. Snap Inc. is reinventing the camera to improve the way people live and communicate. The company has a long history of partnering with museums and artists who have helped illustrate the magic of how the digital and the physical worlds can come together, including Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Alex Israel, Christian Marclay, Damien Hirst, Lauren Halsey, Mark Bradford, and more.

Programming for Gallery Weekend L.A. will be dispersed across the city. Though mindful of ongoing capacity limitations, a rich array of self-guided options will be available, including days throughout the weekend dedicated to exploring different parts of the city. With other events planned, the first iteration of the event will focus on making art viewing accessible for both residents and visitors, and underscore the importance of viewing art in person once again.
