In Inglewood…FIFA World Cup is officially here in LA and so are some really fun events. While one thinks of dance parties as happening during the night, Daybreaker has organized a sober morning hip-hop dance party. Grammy Award-winning producer, songwriter, and hip-hop icon Jermaine Dupri will headline Daybreaker’s latest stop on its global Let’s Be Friends tour, bringing a morning of music, movement, and community to CineVita, the world’s largest spiegeltent, located adjacent to SoFi Stadium in the heart of the World Cup festivities.

The morning begins with a movement experience led byAngela Parretta, founder of Drenched LA, before Dupri takes over the decks for a two-hour DJ set celebrating hip-hop’s enduring power to bring people together across generations, backgrounds, and cultures. Hospital of Emotions recently opened inside a former wing of St. Vincent Medical Center. Presented by House of Art and Dreams, ROYVA Group, and also St. Vincent Behavioral Health Campus, it transformed one of Los Angeles’ most historic hospital sites into a fully immersive, large-scale art experience. Hyde Park

The Southern California Women’s Caucus for Art (SCWCA) holds a closing art party for Bigger Picture – Your Large Scale Perspective. Juried by Linda Jo Russell, the exhibition was part of the organization’s 50th anniversary. It is currently on view at Range Projects Gallery. Mount Wilson

MWO (Mount Wilson Observatory) debuts its first exhibition from its Arts @ The Observatory series. Nocturnal Landscapes From the Arid West, by Russell Crotty is curated by Stephen Nowlin (MWO artist-in-residence). The solo show will be held in the vaulted dome of the historic 100-inch telescope. Guests will enjoy an opening reception as well as a walkthrough with the artist.

LAUNCH LA­ once again presents the 23rd Annual TARFEST/Beacon 250. The free annual event celebrates LA culture, art and music in partnership with, Pan Pacific Park. While paying tribute to the 250th birthday of the United States, the event will also highlight LA’s rich cultural heritage. In addition to original work from local artists, guests can participate in activities with Museums and Cultural Partners such as the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, the Petersen Automotive Museum, the Korean Cultural Center, and the Skirball Cultural Center.

On the audio portion, attendees will enjoy live music on the 89.9 KCRW Stage. Austin Hayman: Looking For A Friend and Gus Monday and Julian Lombardi: Orders of Emergence open at Make Room Gallery. The artist was born in Los Angeles and raised in Sonoma County.
