Recent Reviews at the Hollywood Bowl
Jazz on Tap at the Bowl offered an exceptional night of jazz music, voice and lots of tap dancing. In addition to incredible live performances, Hollywood’s classic dance movies played on the massive screens. Incredible vocalists such as Christian McBride, Ben Vereen, Freda Payne, etc. Add to that a tap icon Savion Glover, and additional talented tappers. CLICK HERE to read.
During the summer, my husband and I enjoyed a romantic holiday show with Harry Connick Jr. at the fourth of July Spectacular. It was so much fun. In addition to Harry and his incredible performance, the fireworks show was off the charts.

Another amazing show was during the same week. Ms. Patti LaBelle was just outstanding. At 82 years young, she just blew us all away. She is a remarkable entertainer and a one-of-a-king vocalist.

Also one the Jazz Festival is another great show – this is an annual event and we have reviewed it for many years.
The event hosted at the Bowl started back in 1959. Hugh Hefner founded the festival as a one time event in Chicago. Then the Playboy Jazz Festival (as it used to be called) was brought back and moved to the Hollywood Bowl in 1979. It became an annual tradition. I have attend many years, and reviewed it in 2019 with that name. That was the last summer before covid hit, and all of our lives would change. CLICK HERE to read my review.
However once the pandemic slowed down in 2022, it started back up again, and was renamed the Hollywood Bowl Jazz Festival. I’m so glad they brought it back, as it is really fun event.
