In Venice…

TodSat-Aug27-2016-Cosmos Memorial Inviteay…at 4:20pm, join the parade and celebrate the life of Cosmo Goffredo! I never knew his last name…just knew him as Cosmo. I met him shortly after arriving in Venice in 1999. He was good friends with the first man that I dated (20 years my senior) in Venice after my longtime marriage in NYC had ended.

Venice was the much needed change I was ready to experience. It was amazing…with all of its characters and Cosmo was one of those characters. A Joe Pesci type, Cosmo would crack me up every time I saw him strolling down Abbot Kinney or the Venice Boardwalk. He was working…yes we all knew. But he was always friendly and generous…a good guy. We shared our New York connection.

Cosmo touched so many people…he was a longtime fixture in Venice. If you knew him or only knew of him, come out and celebrate his life. I have always believed a successful life is marked by how positively we can affect the people around us….Cosmo did that for sure!

A close friend of Cosmo’s, Annie Siqueiros opened her home and helped Cosmo transition. It was a beautiful, peaceful scene with friends gathered around him, one playing harp, others telling stories…celebrating his life as he left this earth.

Today, Sunday, August 28, Annie and friends have organized a celebration/parade for his final send-off. Come celebrate Cosmo at 4:20pm today (Sunday) at Rose Avenue and Ocean Front Walk in Venice….
