West HollywoodLos Angeles Art Association hosts an all day opening for a group show titled Interiority. The juried exhibition is curated by Robert Benitez of the Lancaster Museum of Art & History. ICA LA hosts a community celebration for the opening of new exhibitions. Speaking in Tongues a group exhibition spotlighting art influenced by spirituality opens in the main gallery. Additionally Raven Sanchez: Así Sea / So Be It will be on view in the Elsa Longhauser Project Room. This is the  LA artist’s first solo show with the gallery. And finally Desert Islands, an exhibition from the newest Bookshelf Residency with Semiotext(e) opens in the Annex Gallery.

ICALA

A series of live performances will also take place in conjunction with the Speaking in Tongues exhibition. The series features Ron Athey and Carmina Escobar, Raven Chacon, Asher Hartman in collaboration with Jasmine Orpilla, Việt Lê, and Aki Onda. These works extend the exhibition both within and beyond the ICA LA galleries, activating sound, voice, and the body as sites of spiritual inquiry and communion. Here is today’s schedule.

Also in HollywoodDiane Rosenstein holds an art party to celebrate its new space. Also opening as its inaugural exhibition is Amir Zaki: No Dust to Settle. This is the gallery’s third solo exhibition with Amir Zaki (USA, b. 1974). Fifteen black and white photographs are included from the artist’s recent body of work: an alternative archive of the postwar architectural history of modernist libraries in Southern California. Beverly Hills

The Wallis presents the Pulitzer Prize winning play English by Sanaz Toossi and directed by Knud Adams. This acclaimed Atlantic Theater Company & Roundabout Theatre Company production runs for a limited engagement of 24 performances at the Wallis’ Bram Goldsmith Theater on April 4 to 26, 2026.

The play spotlights four Iranian adults preparing for an English language exam in a storefront school near Tehran. Due to  family separations and travel restrictions they are now prompted to learn a new language that may alter their identities. Needless to say, the plot of English is ironically pertinent in 2026 and tells a touching story of young people caught in the crossfire of political assimilation. Mid City

CMay offers a final celebration and book signing for two artists and their solo exhibitions. Land / Air / Sea by Los Angeles–based artist Cynthia Minet. This is the artist’s first solo exhibition. Featuring six new cast aluminum sculptures highlighting the impact that humans have had on our world. She is known for her illuminated installations of life-sized animal sculptures created from recycled plastics.

LA-based artist Jeremy Kidd continues his photographic practice of the past twenty years. His first solo show with the gallery, Between Observation & Artifice features a new body of landscape paintings. He combines these paintings alongside an animated video work.

Vielmetter Los Angeles offers an opening reception for Groundskeeper by Alec Egan in Gallery II. The inaugural solo exhibition features the artist’s recent series stems from the psychological concept of the prodromal — a clinical term describing the onset of psychosis before it fully emerges.
