LACP proudly announces its 7th Annual Fundraising Gala and Auction on the roof top at the W Hotel in Hollywood. This year’s event will be a hybrid experience including a cocktail party, award ceremony, photography panel, DJ, photo auction and live stream.

LACP is excited to honor seminal celebrity photographer Greg Gorman with the prestigious Stieglitz award, which will be presented by Sugar Ray Leonard. Greg noted “Being a photographer and lover of the Arts, LACP is the most important organization for Photography in Los Angeles, primarily because of its focus and outreach.  I have been teaching workshops for them since 1999.” He added, “From organizing exhibitions to providing free of charge education and help to those of need and interested in the Photographic Arts, LACP has tirelessly, at their own expense, provided this important function in our community.”

Susan Spiritus, whose gallery has been supporting photographers for over 46 years, will be honored with the Spark Award, dedicated to professionals who transformed the field and the lives of photographers. And this year, LACP will also introduce an Emerging Voices and the JEDI Award (Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion). This year’s awardee for Emerging Voices is Adali Schell and Tara Pixley with the JEDI. Past Stieglitz winners include Mona Kuhn and Art Streiber.

“This is an exciting moment for LACP,” said Executive Director Rotem Rozental, Ph.D, “as we get to re imagine what we can do as a hybrid center, and support the work of image-based creatives far and wide. As the premiere center for photography in Los Angeles, we have a huge responsibility, to reflect and explore the cultural tensions that define life in this place and promote photographic perspectives that are driven by social frictions and transformations.”

This star-studded event will attract photographers, industry luminaries and illustrious faculty of LACP. The Gala includes an auction, available via Artsy.net, featuring over 170 outstanding photographs generously donated from world-renowned photographers. Participating photographers include Sam Abell, Kwaku Alston, Elinor Carucci, Mitch Dobrowner, Greg Gorman, Mark Edward Harris, Michael Kenna, Joe McNally, Arno Rafael Minkkinen, Ibarionex Perello, Josephine Sacabo, Aline Smithson, Art Streiber, Joyce Tenneson, Nevada Wier, Stephen Wilkes, and many more. Titled Advances and Declines, the participants in this year’s auction explore issues and moments of decay and growth, of forward-facing motion and unpredictable shifts that define and change lives.
