May 3 2025 Arts & Entertainment events in Los Angeles are plentiful. The Brewery Art Walk kicks off today, and runs through tomorrow. The Music Center is hosting two events – one at the Jerry Moss Plaza today, and then one at the Ahmanson tonight. In West Hollywood…Los Angeles Art Association (LAAA) hosts an all day opening for a new exhibition titled Gossamer. The all-media investigation of transparency, delicacy and translucence presentation in contemporary art. Gossamer is juried by Curator Bill Schinsky. The Brewery Art Walk
Downtown…Today and Tomorrow, the Brewery Art Walk will once again open its doors and its artists’ studios for a glimpse inside. Meet the artists, while enjoying a behind the scenes look into finding out how they create. The Spring edition runs from 11am-6pm on both days. Barbara’s restaurant will have the beer garden open. Situated in a former Brewery, it is one of the largest active arts communities in the world. West Adams
The 2025 Venice Design Series hosts its second Saturday event today in the West Adams area. It will focus on its historic architecture, including the Rindge Mansion and the Guasti Villa. The tour will also visit the original home of architect Paul Revere Williams, the iconic architect who was the first Black member of the American Institute of Architects. Williams went on to design the Theme Building at LAX, as well as leading the revitalization of the Beverly Hills Hotel in the 1940s. He was also responsible for creating homes for Hollywood legends such as Frank Sinatra, Lucille Ball, and Desi Arnaz. Also downtown….There happens to be another event at the Music Center tonight. Catch a performance from Grupo Corpo at the Music Center’s Ahmanson Theatre. Known as one of Brazil’s most renowned contemporary dance companies, this is the second performance of a three day run. This is the first time Grupo Corpo which means “body group” in Portuguese returns to the Music Center since 2011. In Los Feliz…Skylight Theatre Company continues its run of Tracy Young’s modern verse translation of William Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale. The legendary play has been reimagined in an accessible, 90-minute modern English translation adapted by Young and Lisa Wolpe. Young directs as she retells her version of the iconic story about love, loss, and also rebirth.
