Downtown...Hospital of Emotions recently opened inside a former wing of St. Vincent Medical Center. Presented by House of Art and Dreams, ROYVA Group, and also St. Vincent Behavioral Health Campus, it transformed one of Los Angeles’ most historic hospital sites into a fully immersive, large-scale art experience.

Black on the Block is back for its Juneteenth Festival from 1-7pm at the the Los Angeles Center Studios. Attendees will enjoy live performances by Jacquees and Kenyon Dixon. In addition to food venders there will be over one hundred and fifty black owned brands selling at the event. Beverly Grove Area
Craft in America presents two new exhibitions Cowboy Craft: Traditional Art of the West and Marques Hanalei Marzan: Entwine. Both exhibition were inspired by the recent Craft in America episode, WEST. Cowboy Craft features artwork made by bonafide members of the Traditional Cowboy Arts Association. Founding member, saddle maker, and NEA Fellow Cary Schwarz helped to organize the exhibition. Artists include: Wilson Capron, Beau Compton, Shawn Didyoung, Leland Hensley, Larry Lorang, Pablo Lozano, Ernie Marsh, Cary Schwarz, John Willemsma.

Hawaiian culture bearer and contemporary visual artist Marques Hanalei Marzan is also featured in the recent Craft in America episode, WEST. His skill, knowledge, and experience have long been acknowledged within his community. He is both a mentor and advocate to keep the indigenous art of Hawai‘i alive. bG Gallery brings back its annual exhibition, Spectrum Gestalt 2026. The exhibition explores the use of color and form. Now in its 12th year, Spectrum Gestalt features works from floor to ceiling. In honor of Juneteenth, Dmst Atelier presents Is It True? featuring the work of five artists. As American history shows after more than two years once the Emancipation Proclamation was signed, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce the end of slavery.

Curated by Marantz Moon, Is It True? examines the distance between liberation promised and liberation lived. More than 160 years after Juneteenth, Black Americans continue to navigate systemic inequities, wealth disparities, redlining, voter suppression, and so much more. Another downtown…A group show titled From the Inside opens at the Judith Center tonight. The group exhibition is presented in collaboration by the nonprofit organization Just Detention International (JDI) as well as the Judith Center. It features close to one hundred works by individuals who have experienced trauma while in prison. It also includes work by those who have been subjected to sexual abuse while incarcerated. Act Your Age! continues its runs at Two Roads Theatre in the valley. Written by Art Shulman, and directed by Stan Mazin, the world premier comedy/dramais presented by Borough Park Productions, the plot deals with aging. The main character Jake is in denial since he was once the star player of the neighborhood basketball game each weekend. He is once again reminded of his age when attempts to keep up with younger players. Plus he is about to become a grandfather.
