Gallery Association Los Angeles (GALA) presents its third edition of Gallery Weekend LA 2023, running from July 27-29, 2023. The event will feature over 80 local galleries and art spaces drawn from both GALA’s membership as well as non-profit and alternative art spaces that have been invited to participate.

This initiative highlights the city’s rich artistic as well as its cultural landscape. In addition, it features a robust schedule of exhibitions, conversations, marketplaces, and so much more. The Three days of Gallery Weekend will focus on a different neighborhood. Additionally select galleries will remain open until 8pm during their neighborhood days: Thursday, July 27: Westside; Friday, July 28: Central and South; Saturday, July 29: Downtown and Eastside;

For the third year, Gallery Weekend Los Angeles is sponsored by Snap Inc. The company has a long history of partnering with museums and artists. These partners have illustrated how augmented reality (AR) can heighten the places we love and also bring art to new audiences. These institutions include: Los Angeles County  Museum of Art (LACMA), Alex Israel, Christian Marclay, Centre Pompidou, Damien Hirst, Lauren  Halsey, Mark Bradford, and more. Snap brings the Gallery Map to life through AR. It also feature LACMA x Snapchat: Monumental Perspectives AR experiences unveiled over the past few years as a part of a three year initiative.

About Gallery Association Los Angeles

Established in 2020, Gallery Association Los Angeles (GALA) is a coalition of over 90 Los Angeles galleries. GALA was created during the Covid-19 pandemic to promote engagement with the local and international art audience. Together, they support GalleryPlatform.LA and are the organizers of Gallery Weekend Los Angeles.
