For the first time, the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Art Programs presents a first time art walk and a live performance work at entitled “Everywhere Nowhere.”

Everywhere Nowhere is a site-specific, multi-sensory spectacle of movement, media, and color. It was commissioned as part of the Influx: Art at LAX, an ongoing public art festival featuring the work of 45 Los Angeles-based artists and 11 original, site-specific installations located throughout LAX. Prior to the performance of Everywhere Nowhere, LAX is hosting its first-ever Art Walk, inviting the public to take self-guided tours of the various Influx installations located in the airport’s public space.
Influx Art Walk: Maps for self-guided tours will be available at the Art Walk Welcome Table at the Terminal 1 Arrivals level, as well as online. Influx installations are located throughout LAX.
Everywhere Nowhere performance takes place in the outdoor courtyard located on the Arrivals level in between Terminals 1 and 2 at LAX.

Cherry Martin celebrates the work of renowned artist Robert Heinecken. “Waking Up in News America” is a significant work that has not been seen in almost two decades. The room-sized installation investigates two of Heinecken’s deep concerns: mass media and the affects of one particular form of mass media–the television.
“Waking Up in News America” is a room in which every surface–the walls and floors, the figure sitting in a chair and the range of household objects that make up this odd ‘domestic’ environment–are completely covered in images shot from the TV. The effect is to suggest that we are formed–in every way–by the omnipresent medium.
Also included in Cherry and Martin’s exhibition will be a number of Heinecken’s videograms. To make these concrete photographic works, Heinecken held unexposed photo paper up to the television set, turning it on and off to expose the image.

The Craft & Folk Art Museum presents Nathalie Miebach: Changing Waters, the first solo exhibition in Los Angeles of TED Global Fellow Nathalie Miebach.

For years, Miebach has been translating meteorological, ecological, and oceanographic data into woven sculptures and musical scores. Using the gridsystem of basket weaving as a base, her three-dimensional data visualizations are a revolutionary blend of the aesthetic and the informational.
Also on display is a group show entitled “Artifacts of a Life Lived by the Living (To Live),” curated by contemporary artist Chris Johanson.
An artist talk will take place in the gallery from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., followed by a reception. Both events are open to CAFAM members and the public.

Actual Size Los Angeles, in conjunction with Academy Records, presents “HEAD (devices III),” a temporary installation and performance venue.
“HEAD” transforms the interior of Actual Size into a mock TV studio, on view to the public through the gallery’s storefront windows.
The mod set and its dressing, which references 1960’s variety show music sets, explores the gallery space as site of potential performance. As the third installation in Academy Record’s “devices” series, HEAD continues an investigation of the distribution of culture through a focus on the physical structures and platforms created for performance.
