Brand Library & Art Center welcomes the Los Angeles community to an Artist Open House and opening of Neighborhood Ecology. Meet curator Stephanie Sherwood, and also many of the artists. The group show explores the neighborhood’s history, its landmarks, fauna, etc. Moreover young artists from all five high schools in Glendale Unified School District (GUSD) are participating in the exhibition.
Also attendees can watch a behind-the-scenes documentary ENTRE LUZ about Jazmin Garcia’s Trokas Duras in the Recital Hall. Filmmaker Pablo Simental will also be in attendance. Then in Brand Park, the Los Angeles Lowrider Alliance members will exhibit their one-of-a-kind lowriders. At Bergamot Station…Craig Krull Gallery debuts a new exhibition titled 50 Years of Art: lost and found. The duo show features the work of the performance art team Bob & Bob.

Blending humorous and irreverent mix of pop culture, and the political climate of the late 20th century, the exhibition spotlights the duo’s collaborative works on paper. Furthermore, it includes a media room with a large monitor running vintage reels of their performance work, in addition to a plethora of related ephemera. Their work is in the permanent collections of LACMA, MOCA, The Getty and also MOMA. The archives of Bob & Bob reside at the Smithsonian.

Forest Lawn Museum hosts an opening art party for Convergence: Contemporary Artists of Armenian Descent. The group show features the work of over twenty artists. I have always been moved by the work of Armenian artist Sophia Gasparian who consistently pays tribute to her heritage. Gasparian’s art as well as work from many more talented artists is included in the exhibition.
The FREE event features complimentary drinks and hors d’oeuvres, and also a DJ set by Bei Ru (beirumusic.com). Bei Ru is an LA-based producer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist. He was born in Los Angeles to Armenian parents who immigrated from Lebanon. The free, family-friendly event includes free parking, and is open to the public, ADA compliant, and wheelchair accessible. Fowler Museum holds the closing art party for Fire Kinship: Southern California Native Ecology and Art. The gathering will open with song and music by Lazaro Arvizu Jr. Next, it will be followed by wise words shared by California Indian community members. UCLA Film & Television Archive present a free screening of The Dream & The Lie at the Hammer Museum. The film is a 2025 experimental, feature-length film by Albanian American artist Elena Dorfman.
From 1944 through 1991, Albania was under the rule of Enver Hoxha, (a Marxist-Leninist regime). The people were subjected to propaganda, strict regulations as well as being under totalitarian surveillance. Albanian American artist and photographer Elena Dorfman was granted access to Albanian National Film Archive in 1993. This was just two years after the end of the regime to create this documentary. The New Ruskin Group Theatre Arts Center continues its inaugural production titled Honour. Written by Joanna Murray-Smith & directed by Max Mayer, it features Marcia Cross and Matthew Letscher. Synopsis: A sharp and authentic examination of love, betrayal, and the fragile agreements that hold marriages together. When a celebrated writer can’t seem to “do the right thing,” decades of loyalty, and intimacy, as well as compromise unravel in a single evening. With wit and emotional precision, the play explores the personal cost of truth and the reverberations of a single, life-altering choice – asking whether honesty is always an act of courage, or sometimes one of cruelty.
