TPOW lowres Brooke BeverlyHillsArtShow Spring2012he show will once again be held in the Beverly Gardens Park, a standing tradition along with a juried show featuring 240 artists this year.

Artist Brooke Harker will be participating again this year. She had a successful experience last year, selling several painting and making new friends.

Harker found it was also an excellent networking tool as well. “Making and exhibiting original art creates a forum for me to meet and connect with people in a genuine way,” explains Harker. “I don’t know if the fact that I share a truthful part of how I experience the world through my brush strokes prompts people to be genuine with me in conversation…but that has been my fortunate experience.”

POW lowres BrookeHarker Eifeltower BeverlyHillsArtShow Fall2012Brooke will be showing works inspired by her recent travels to Dongguan, China and Hong Kong, and New York City. Her cityscapes will also feature Los Angeles such as Beverly Hills, Laguna Beach, Downtown LA, Venice, and Marina del Rey.

In the past the variety of art showcased has included urban Pop objects to virtuosic California Plein Air painting. Continuing the show’s year-long-theme, Games and Puzzles in Art, special exhibits and games will again be featured, as will absorbing yet puzzling art for the curious.

The Los Angeles Art Association is sponsoring an installation, in and around a giant cypress tree near the center of the show, by artist Brandon Hudson, who will display structures which seem simultaneously manmade and natural, part computer and part garden.

The LAAA is a featured gallery and arts partner to the Art Show. The gallery will also exhibit the highly unexpected, stunning objects of glass artist Rachel Kaster. Kelly Berg will display her dense, detailed, nearly overwhelming mazes. I am a big fan of Kelly’s work. Be sure to check it out. http://kellyberg.net/
