Blum & Poe presents two new solo exhibitions. Julian Hoeber’s exhibit features paintings, sculpture and installation and will examine the construction of a body in space and how consciousness is affected under varying physical circumstances.

Also enjoy a show by Kōji Enokura (1942-1995), one of the key figures of Mono-ha, a group of Tokyo-based artists who radically redefined Japanese art during the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Thurs 6.6 Gusford Andrea HaslerGUSFORD | los angeles hosts a reception for Burdens of Excess, an installation by Swiss-born sculptor Andrea Hasler. For her first solo exhibition with the gallery, Hasler will transform the entire space into a chic, glittery boutique, filled with works from her Desire series.

Through her deconstruction of high-end designer items, Hasler’s wax sculptures transform consumeristic ‘must-haves’ into organic, fetishistic objects.

HeThurs 10.4 SanPedro1st Thursdayad to San Pedro for an artwalk. The event is really fun, I went a while back and had a great time. There is an Artwalk tour which starts at 6:30, meeting at the San Pedro Chamber of Commerce, 390 W. 7th Street.

Park free at Ports O’ Call near the San Pedro Art Association (open First Thursday), Berth 77, just north of the Ports O’Call Restaurant. The Red Car Trolley will pick you up there, and take you to (and from) downtown San Pedro. It runs from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m.

San Pedro’s artwalk is the 1st Thursday of each month from 6pm – 9pm.

Stop into Gallery 478 (478 W 7th St) who will be showcasing a black and white photography collection “3rd & Vermont” by Michael Cannon.

TThurs 6.6 TheLoft Smallhe Loft hosts a national juried photography show. Enjoy some wonderful imagery featuring eleven artists who have studios in the building and on the third floor, there is also a large gallery where the work of other artists will be on view.

This event is the second photography show curated by Paul Blieden and Jim McKinniss. This year’s event has been judged by Mark Comon. The gallery will be featuring 35 talented photographers in the show this year.
