At the Annenberg Space for photography in Century City, Jeffrey Scales will be featured. Scales began taking photographs of the Black Panthers and other political activists of the 1960’s at the age of 13. One year later his work appeared Time magazine.

If you are up to venturing outside of LA…we’ve got a couple of art walks for you.

If you are in the San Pedro area, they offer a lovely artwalk, which I have been to several times. Each month the Artwalk tour starts at 6:30, meeting at the San Pedro Chamber of Commerce, 390 W. 7th Street.

Park free at Ports O’ Call near the San Pedro Art Association (open First Thursday), Berth 77, just north of the Ports O’Call Restaurant. The Red Car Trolley will pick you up there, and take you to (and from) downtown San Pedro. It runs from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m.

Another fun one….is Townley Gallery, who will be holding an opening reception for Abstracting the Figure. Curated by Shane Townley, the exhibit will feature artist Colette Standish, an English painter and photographer.
