if you haven’t made plans….hopefuly you are looking at this post Friday at noon. Cause you better call now to make a reservation…if not (yeah, if it’s Sunday), well, better start cooking. 

See below for a couple of restaurant offerings for you…Let’s not forget…Dad may enjoy some ART too.

The Hammer’s biennial exhibition Made in L.A. 2014 features works by 35 Los Angeles artists with an emphasis on emerging and under recognized artists. It debuts recent work and new painting, installation, video, sculpture, photography, and performances created specifically for the exhibition. Made in L.A. 2014 will be installed in every gallery at the Hammer Museum.

The exhibition is organized by Hammer chief curator Connie Butler and independent curator Michael Ned Holte. The exhibition will be accompanied by a comprehensive hardcover catalogue, as well as a full roster of free public programming.

Today’s program will feature the debut of Judy Fiskin’s new film, “I’ll Remember Mama.”

Take your Dad out for a great meal….Upper West is one of my absolute FAVORITE restaurants. The food is consistently delish.

Stop in for Father’s Day…Start with the mushroom ravioli or the braised pork belly. For the main dish, the blackened salmon is tasty, or the braised shot ribs…and you know I LOVE the pan roasted filet mignon. The burgers and sides are also out of of this world….This a wonderful restaurant to enjoy a Father’s Day meal…it’s Dad approved.

The prix fixe sinclude Bloomsdale spinach salad, grilled pork chop with brandied cherries; chocolate brioche bread pudding with salted caramel and vanilla ice cream. $45 per person. 

BTW….I did personally call to confirm the time and was told 10-5pm…BUT the woman answering the phone seemed a bit uncertain. So be sure to check when you are making your reservation.

Joe’s Restaurant offers two dining events for Father’s Day. An a la carte and a pix fix menus are available for both meals.

JoesFRONTBrunch runs from 10am to 2:30 pm. Entrees include vegetarian quiche, lobster red flannel hash, confit of pork belly, etc. Starters like homemade sticky buns, wedge salad as well as sides such as, bacon, grits and pancakes add an extra special touch for Dad. Of course specialty desserts are available as well.

At night, Joe’s offers a Father’s Day Patio BBQ. Dad can enjoy a variety of entrees such as flat iron steak, roasted sockeye salmon, 10 hour braised pulled pork slider, Maine lobster risotto and more. Appetizers include jumbo shrimp cocktai, crabcakes with featured sides…grilled asparagus, potato salad, and apple slaw. Prix fix is $52 per person.
