Sexy Beast celebrates the art world’s power to effect positive change, touch people’s lives, and create value far beyond commercial gain. Each year, 150,000 women, men, and teens rely on Planned Parenthood Los Angeles for reproductive health care and education. Over 90% of the 270,000 annual patient visits are for birth control and preventative care, including cancer screening and STD testing. Like the arts at their best, Planned Parenthood health centers offer refuge, enrichment, and empowerment without regard for income or affiliation. Founded in 2014 by Night Gallery’s Mieke Marple and Davida Nemeroff, Sexy Beast’s inaugural auction was hosted by comedian Jack Black and raised more than $500,000 for PPLA.
