There are two daytime art events taking place today…

CulJune7-AffairoftheArts-culver-city-artver City’s “Affair of the Arts” takes place today….from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm and  Sun. 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.

More than 60 artists have been selected to showcase paintings, photography, sculpture, hand-blown glass, ceramics and jewelry. and more than 5,000 art lovers are expected.

The event is presented by Whole 9 Gallery and will take place 9300 Culver Blvd.,Washington Blvd. at Culver Blvd. Culver City, CA 90232

In addition to art, there will be great food, live music, and events for kids and adults.

Topanga Canyon Gallery hosts its annual Studio tour, today and tomorrow. Meet the artists of eclectic arts community.

Ruchika’s love of arts and crafts began when she was a child. Color, shape and form have always intrigued her. Colors talk to her and form plays in her mind and hands. She is a natural with the process of creation. But somehow she lost sight of it as she grew up and trained in Film and TV. She worked as a Journalist before moving to the US several years ago. Back at Penn State where her husband went to school, she started creating crafts again. Experimenting and playing around with materials such as sculpey, mod podge, acrylic and watercolor and more.

Bringing together important Color Field works rarely exhibited in Los Angeles, this exhibition seeks to examine the pivotal role that Color Field painters and their direct predecessors played in the evolution of abstract art, while also proving the work’s persisting ability to captivate the contemporary eye.

Thomas Hollier, digital artist and designer in collaboration with Philippe Bergeron, president of PaintScaping have prepared a special underwater 3d animation to be projected on the gallery walls.

Submerged, consists of paintings that visually chronicle Corrine Chaix aesthetic inquiry, ranging from portraits to mythic seascapes. In her works Corinne revisits popular tales and exploration novels like The Little Mermaid and Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea as inspiration for an ongoing project that spans several years and has evolved into Underwater Society, her latest series.
