Pick of the Week.…Art and great food ….a perfect mixture.

The Upper West

Upper West Restaurant celebrates “California Scenes by a French Painter.” This Sunday, Upper West supports the arts and hosts an opening reception featuring artist Humbert Curcuru. Upper West Restaurant features art on their walls on a regular basis.

Their newest exhibition features French painter, Humbert Curcuru, who studied drawing at Altelier Met de Penninghem and Academie Julian in Paris. He was admitted to ENSAD Paris, traveled to United States where he studied at Otis Parsons Los Angeles 1981.Humbert also studied in Paris, Parsons New School of Design 1983.

He began showing his work as a “plein air” painter. Humbert is drawn to painting landscapes. He is inspired by the location and natural light, never choosing to paint from a photograph. Painting is the journal of his life, a projection of himself. It is necessary, it gives a sense to the life of the artist who creates it.

This Sunday, enjoy an opening reception. If you have ever been to Upper West Restaurant, you know the food is out of this world. So pop on it, sample some wonderful tasty treats and stay for dinner. Simply delicious. Upper West also offers an incredible happy hour and is currently participating in the Los Angeles Food and Wine Festival. Be sure to see the website for their very popular scotch pairing events.
