Upper West is known for its incredible cuisine, but it also hosts wonderful art events.

Brooke’s large vibrant paintings truly embrace the expansive walls. “Memoirs of Cities” features a variety of works based on several themes. The cityscapes selected for the exhibition feature recognizable places such as New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Catalina and more.

Festive Days is one of the works in the exhibition which was inspired by her love for umbrellas. “Festive Days shares a celebration of sketching umbrellas on the Fourth of July, one of the best times to see umbrellas on the beach. It fascinates me to think that each time a person places their umbrellas in the sand, the pattern created will never be repeated again at any time, anywhere. Maybe all of life is like this…it’s just something about umbrellas that helps me understand this concept.”
