A lifelong artist, Eric Nash graduated with a BFA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His work as an advertising art director in Chicago, cemented his interest in universal and iconic imagery. This West Coast Realist uses oil and charcoal. Important influences include Pop Art, American Realism and Cinematography. Drawn to its iconic landscape, Nash relocated to Los Angeles in 2000. His work is in many private art collections in America and Europe, as well as corporate collections including Delta Airlines. In addition to numerous solo gallery shows his work has been featured at Laguna Art Museum, Tucson Museum of Art, Palm Springs Museum of Art and more. He currently lives and works in Yucca Valley, California.

I had the chance to interview Eric Nash for Artillery Magazine a couple of years back.

Another artist I’ve written about is Melissa Chandon, who draws from her childhood memories to create her paintings. Check out my review in the Huff Post. “I consider myself to be an abstract realist painter,” said Chandon. “My work could best be described as ‘Americana meets Pop Art. Born as a child of the 50’s, road trips were my parents’ passion. chandon said she felt it is important to document this era of U.S. history before it disappears. In this exhibition of recent work, Chandon celebrates the nostalgia of road trips past, as well as the icon of Southern California life—the swimming pool. Her pools range from the requisite motel amenity of childhood, to the quirky backyard oasis of suburbia, to the sleek blue complement of mid-century modern architecture.
