Meet the artist, Amanda Maciel Antunes, at the closing reception for her solo show, “Ithaca,” at Luna Anais Gallery. Ithaca responds to Homer’s Odyssey with Antunes’ vision of the epic’s destination as a matriarchal place.
Commissioned by Luna Anaïs Gallery, the performance is part of “Ithaca,” Amanda’s solo exhibition on view now through October 28, 2021 that responds to Homer’s Odyssey through a feminine lens. Produced by Ilona Berger. The film was shot between 2018-2019 during residences in the Amazon, Brazil, and Los Angeles.
