Weekend Update….Lots More and the Pick of the Week, this Saturday, The Robert Berman Gallery’s Grand Opening of their Newest Gallery!

Welcome to www.laartparty.com. LA Art Party is the Go-to Guide for what’s happening in LA…Fun Free Art and Entertainment events all over LA.

Originally named www.ktrpromo.com, we’ve changed the name and have some new things happening and lots of exciting changes in store for you.

The new site, www.laartparty.com is much more advanced, with many more bells and whistles. We desperately needed this since we are growing at such a rapid pace. We will continue to tweak the site in the next couple of weeks. It’s a much better name…don’t you think?

My partner Leslie Reed will eventually be taking over the KTR Promo site as well as the  the PR business, so that I can write more and keep up with all the new projects growing out of www.laartparty.com.

You may have noticed that I have been writing for more and more publications. Well, you gotta go with the flow, right? Here is the current list of publications that my articles have been published in I am the LA Art Events and Restaurant writer for the Examiner. I have been published on many websites and publications including Artslant, Campus Circle, the Examiner, California Chronicle, Santa Monica Daily Press, The Santa Monica Mirror, The Observer, Santa Monica Patch, Singular City Magazine, Venice Beachhead, Venice Patch; and others.

Now let’s get back to basics….My pick of the Week is this Saturday, The Robert Berman Gallery celebrates the Grand Opening of their newest gallery and third space at Bergamot Station. This is gonna be a fun one. The opening reception runs from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the old Samuel Freeman gallery and Patricia Faure of course that great corner gallery (B-7).

See Friday’s Santa Monica Mirror and the Santa Monica Daily press for both of my articles about The Robertrobertbermanad Berman Gallery and the grand opening.

The Robert Berman Gallery presents Lost and Found/Abstracting Los Angeles 1945-1980 as their latest offering for the Getty Foundation’s initiative, Pacific Standard Time.

This historic gallery space (B-7) was home to the Patricia Faure Gallery, where well known artists gathered at notorious parties. So it is apropos that the grand opening will occur simultaneously with an exhibition which celebrates the same iconic artists as part of Pacific Standard Time.

Lost and Found explores the work of obscure and renowned artists who helped spark the art movement in Los Angeles during the 1950s. This exhibition honors the legend of the Cool School days, born out of the famous Ferus Gallery. The focus of this exhibition is post-war works up to 1980.

Paid to Play (C-2) andTransformation (D-5) will remain open though December 1st. Gallery hours are 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.  http://www.robertbermangallery.com/
