In Boyle Heights…Corey Helford Gallery (CHG) debuts new exhibitions – “I Don’t Wanna Be, I Am,” and “Future Seasons.” An opening event took place on Saturday, May 14, 2022, but you can still see the show through June 18, 2022. “I Don’t Wanna Be, I Am,” an international touring group exhibition exploring the concept of identity by bringing together a selection of artworks from a roster of artists including world-renowned Spanish painter and sculptor Okuda San Miguel, Argentinian artists Elian Chali and Franco Fasoli, as well as Spanish artists Martí Sawe, Misterpiro, Nano4814, Sabek, Sixe Paredes, and Spok Brillor. Curated by and in partnership with Ink and Movement (IAM).

In Gallery 2, “Future Seasons” features new works from London-based award-winning artist duo Kai & Sunny.This new body of work from Kai & Sunny showcases their uniquely distinguishable compositions of acrylic paintings on linen canvas and archival ballpoint pen drawings on paper. The works are created by hand building thin intricate lines methodically upon each other. Featuring 17 original pieces, Future Seasons marks Kai & Sunny’s third solo at CHG (following 2020’s The Great Curve and 2019’s In The Drift) and is the duo’s most ambitious exhibition to date with the largest canvas measuring 79” x118”.

The shows open Saturday, May 14 from 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm in the Main Gallery.
