Lots Going on in Santa Monica…It’s the 20th Anniversary of Santa Monica’s SOULstice Festival. The all day annual festival takes place up and down Main Street which will be closed to cars, as well as some side streets too. The event features tribute bands on several stages, and also a pop-up art gallery, kid corner and a pet zone. If you are a foodie, you will love this one. Concern Foundation Block Party is a massive food festival that raises money for cancer research. It’s an absolutely great cause, and incredible event. I have attended for years now.

Mid Wilshire/Mid City area

Pace Gallery celebrates the art of Gordon Parks. The photographer, filmmaker, composer, and writer was one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. He has described himself as “an objective reporter with a subjective heart.” Presented in partnership with The Gordon Parks Foundation, the exhibition will bring together some 40 photographs spanning four decades of the artist’s career.
