Enjoy a closing reception on June 2, 2019 at C Gallery on Broadway for “The Shapes and Colors of the West,” a joint exhibit featuring the paintings of Theresa Paden accented by the glass sculptures of Marcus Thesing.
Theresa is known for unique paintings that feature vivid colors and expressive brush work. She is an animal lover and avid horse woman who has a passion for painting horses, wildlife, and people of the West. Inspired by the Fauves, she mixes bright colors and intense light with her expressive style to capture the heart and soul of her subjects. Cowgirl Magazine said, “Paden’s paintings are, in a word, sentient. Mixed into the bright, bold pigments is a feeling of being in the physical and spiritual presence of her subjects.”
Marcus Thesing is a southern Californian, and with his father being a sculptor, he became interested in art at a young age. He apprenticed with master glassblower, John Barber for nine years and then started his own glassblowing studio where he creates new designs and ways to express himself with the molten medium which he loves, glass.
A parking lot is located behind and just to the northwest of the gallery. It can be accessed via an alleyway, turn left just before Hotel Royal (the hotel is at 431 E Broadway). Use the Parkmobile app for Parking Zone #3789.
