Artist Frederika Roeder will be showing two pieces from her Water series. “Throughout my life I have been drawn to the water, and there were periods of time when it felt like I spent more time in or on the water than on dry land,” said Roeder. “Whether surfing, boogie boarding or diving I find both both exhilaration and deep solace in water. I chose these two pieces for Blue Roof’s celebration of the summer solstice. The solstice is all about the sun – but here in Southern California, I find it impossible to think about the sun, without also turning my thoughts to the ocean- either being in it, on it or looking at it.” http://www.frederikabroeder.com/
