Ronald Markman Falls into His 90th Birthday, Oil on Canvas, 48 x 48 inches by Lori Markman
The Southern California Women’s Caucus for Art (SCWCA) presents a group show titled Bigger Picture – Your Large Scale Perspective. The exhibition is part of the organizations 50th anniversary and will be held at Range Projects Gallery.
The Juror is Linda Jo Russell. Artists include: Lori Markman, Ronald Markman (posthumou), Rhiannon Isabella Valenti as well as many more. Michael Kohn Gallery debuts a new exhibition titled Object Poetry. The group show is an active observation and engagement with sculptures that inhabit the lacunae where language lapses. The featured works–spanning performance, kinetics, and assemblage–use sound, light, video, movement and found objects as structural mnemonic devices. Primary Trust continues its run through June 28, 2026 at the Mark Taper Forum. Written by Eboni Booth and directed by Knud Adams, it is the winner of the 2024 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Primary Trust tells the story of a small town book store worker who is suddenly fired. While having to start over, he finds his life is completely changed by the kindness of others. Also downtown…LA Opera celebrates the first night of Mozart’s The Magic Flute at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. This is the its 40th anniversary season as well as Music Director James Conlon’s 20th and final season. Director Barrie Kosky created the production alongside the British theater collective 1927.

Soprano Sydney Mancasola performs as Pamina in addition to Tenor Miles Mykkanen who portrays Tamino, and baritone Kyle Miller appears as Papageno. Soprano Aigul Khismatullina takes on the role of Queen of the Night, and bass Kwangchul Youn portrays Sarastro.
