In Santa Monica for just one evening, the New York City-based percussionist Sameer Gupta will be performing a unique musical experience with LA-based santoor player Kamaljeet Ahluwalia. Their performance will feature intricate rhythms and improvisational melodies based in the deep tradition of Indian classical raga music. Gupta has regularly performed at Lincoln Center NYC, SFJazz, Nehru Centre London and NYC MoMA, while Ahluwalia has written and produced numerous film and television scores globally.

This performance will be set against the beautiful background of the exhibition “Collaboration” which features photography of the Los Angeles Center of Photography and The Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

A big part of LACP’s mission is to provide “focused programming for youth and low-income families, and community outreach.” As a staple in the photographic community, the organization recognizes the importance of giving back by providing education in the photographic arts for underserved youth and other non-profits.
