Los Angeles Art Association hosts an artist talk in conjunction with its annual group exhibition “2022 Open Show,” juried by MoCA’s Rebecca Lowery. The art talk will take place on Saturday January 7, 2023, at 11:00am, at Gallery 825. The exhibition runs thru January 13, 2023. This show can also be viewed online – visit the website.

About Los Angeles Art Association’s OPEN SHOW:  Since 2006, Los Angeles Art Association’s OPEN SHOW has grown into a renown international survey exhibition of emerging art mounted by the organization whose mission is to serve emerging artists. LAAA’s OPEN SHOW is perhaps best known for its prestigious curators and jurors and has been featured on NPR. Past Open Show jurors have included MoCA Director Jeremy Strick, PAMM Director Franklin Sirmans, Hammer Museum Director Annie Philbin, LACMA curator Rita Gonzalez and MASSMoCA Curator Susan Cross. LAAA is thrilled to add Curator Rebecca Lowery to this distinguished list of curatorial talent.

About the Juror: Rebecca Lowery is an Associate Curator at Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA). In addition to her work overseeing the permanent collection, she has most recently organized the exhibitions Tala Madani: Biscuits (2022), Lonesome Crowded West (2022), and Evidence: Selections from the Permanent Collection (2020). Lowery has also co-organized numerous exhibitions at MOCA, including The Foundation of the Museum: MOCA’s Collection (2019) and Cameron Rowland: D37 (2018).
