haleARTS is pleased to present their annual Pop Art Pop Art featuring Idiot Box Art, a collaboration between Emily Bright and Tamara Martin.  Idiot Box Art, is an artist duo local to West Hollywood, Los Angeles; made up of Emily Bright and Tamara Martin. They specialize in bringing vintage comics and images back to life with the use of acrylic, spray paint, resin and a dash of glitter. Emily, brings a background in makeup, design and vintage fashion, while Tamara brings knowledge of comics, street art and graffiti.  Inspired by the likes of Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol, they strive to bring a fresh perspective to the world of Pop Art.

In Boyle Heights…D+H Contemporary presents group exhibition “Linear Fate” featuring artists Maneli Jodat, Tim Fisher, James Johnson, John Pate and more.  All these artists have distinguishable and very different styles.  They all hail from all over the world yet they share a common fate of presenting their work together in downtown Los Angeles in the year 2016. Maneli Jodat’s work has a dreamlike quality, Tim Fisher makes optical Illusions a reality with a mere paint brush, John Pate redefines the word expressionism and James Johnson is grounded in the primacy of figuration.
