Eva Armisén plays with a range of different elements. From the iconographic perspective, she appears to be in search of her lost inner child. The young dreamer that encapsulates the world through simple sketches, the little girl that knows no limits, the girl-woman that dares to fly through the air, with a moon-dress or an umbrella to ward off the tempest. This girl-woman has been gathering her strength, and growing in contention and ripeness. She knows what she wants. She knows how to talk to objects in their simplest form. Eva knows the skills of her trade: an upward or downward curve says it all: can speak of exaltation or reveal the drama. Bright eyes twinkle in a wisely administered stroke.

ROARING NIGHTS 2015 is back….the Los Angeles Zoo’s annual summer music series features Springtime Carnivore starring Greta Morgan.
The event, open to adults (over 18 only) brings an uncommon call of the wild to the Zoo as it also features DJ Johnny Hawkes spinning tunes, L.A.’s favorite food trucks, full-service bars, and a Game Zone with tabletop games and life-size versions of Jenga and Kerplunk.

he fun also includes pop-up zookeeper talks, animal encounters, visits to the Zoo’s new jaguar home (along with other animal habitats), and an “Animal Artistry Paint Party” where guests can express their creativity by painting a favorite animal (or whatever inspiration strikes them) on a small canvas to take home as a souvenir. Among the high-profile food trucks are Coolhaus, Komodo, Lobsta Truck, Mandoline Grill, Ragin Cajun, The Grilled Cheese Truck, Urban Oven, Baby’s Badass Burgers, Bakery Truck, Border Grill, Dogtown Dogs, India Jones, Rice Balls of Fire, Son of a Bun, The Hungry Nomad, The Bakery Truck and The Pudding Truck.

The guitarist for this band, Hector Barrera saved the day on my last gig at Sonnys. My piano player had a medical emergcy and Hector came in last minute to play with my blues band (Kat & the Blues Hounds).
