The Taiwan Academy in Los Angeles, in collaboration with Glass Garage Gallery and bG Gallery, presents a special exhibition titled “The Ocean of Memories” curated by Glass Garage Gallery owner/director Henry Lien.
The exhibition will feature artists from Taiwan and North America exploring the theme of the ocean and memories as metaphors for immigration and for things that both unite and divide, among other universal themes. The opening exhibition will include a special presentation by the artists discussing their work and their very personal memories of the ocean and of crossing cultures. In addition, the exhibition will feature an audience participation element. The exhibition space will include a screen displaying anonymous writings by audience members recounting their personal memories of the ocean or of crossing cultures.
