Diane Rosenstein Gallery presents Beautiful Peace On Earth, a group exhibition featuring 17 current and alumni artists from the Creative Growth Art Center. The Oakland center is the oldest and largest studio and gallery program worldwide featuring artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The gallery hosted an opening art party on Saturday, July 15, 2023. However, the exhibition runs through August 26, 2023.

Beautiful Peace on Earth
The exhibition is curated by Ginger Shulick Porcella and explores visual language as universal communication. Beautiful Peace on Earth includes nearly 100 sculptures, paintings, video, as well as works on paper. This show will highlight the depth and breadth of the work created in Creative Growth’s studio in Oakland, CA.
This survey marks the Creative Growth’s 50th Anniversary. Works by renowned artists, Dan Miller, Dwight Macintosh, John Hiltunen, Nicole Storm, and William Scott will be included. In addition emerging artist Nathaniel Jackson makes his gallery debut. The artist will feature a series of beautifully abstracted monsters rendered in watercolor. Alice Wong’s haunting paintings on found photographs will also be on display.

Artists include: John Hiltunen, Nathaniel Jackson, Susan Janow, Franna Lusson, Dwight Mackintosh, John Martin, Dan Miller, Donald Mitchell, Latefa Noorzai, Tony Pedemonte, Barry Regan, William Scott, Nicole Storm, Monica Valentine, Ron Veasey, Alice Wong, and Ying Ge Zhou.
The gallery will also host a closing reception for the group exhibition on August 26, 2023. The event will feature a screening of artist Cheryl Dunn’s film Beyond I Wanna Go. The film documents ten years of Creative Growth’s iconic “Beyond Trend” fashion show. Fashions designed by Creative Growth artists will be on display.
