Los Angeles Art Association is proud to present “UPCYCLE” and solo exhibitions by Pat Gainor, Barrie Goshko and Slate Quagmier. The opening reception was held on August 14 at Gallery 825.. “Upcycle” is an all media exploration of how artists reuse (discarded objects or material) in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value than the original. Juror: ELIZABETH EAST, LA LOUVER;

Pat Gainor, Eye Candy 1 with Gold Dots, 60 x 65 inches, 2021

Inspired by Frank Gehry’s process of studying crumpled papers, Pat Gainor’s “Eye Candy” comprises abstract paintings created during the pandemic. Nevertheless, this exhibition is joyful, brimming with energy, movement, and light. The shapes and patterns in each painting are there to enjoy one-by-one, as with a sampler box of chocolates. “Eye Candy” is installed in front room at Gallery 825, just beyond the entrance.

All shows will be open by appointment August 14 – September 10 at Gallery 825 with a full-day reception on August 14 , 2021. Each exhibition will also be presented online.
