What a fun night, last night, I bought some cool new boots from Uroborus on Main. They had a really fun party and a nice spread, good sangria too. …..whew so much to do, and eat and drink!

Take a trip to Joshua Tree for a fun weekend of hiking and Art. Joshua Tree Highlands Artist Residency presents their 5th annual Art Exhibit at Joshua Tree Art Gallery. Last month, several friends that live in Venice, went to a show at this gallery and spent the night, and had a wonderful weekend and retreat. I highly suggest it.
Then it seems another gallery is getting in on the actionof Pacific Standard Time. The Frank Lloyd Gallery (B5B) features the work of Craig Kauffman. Stay in Santa Monica and drop by Arena 1 Gallery, located at3026 Airport Avenue for the exhibition entitled Seeing Through the Eyes of Mona Lisa. Now what doesn’t make sense to me is it is named after a famous painting, but it is a photography exhibition. Huh?
Ok here are the details. It gets event stranger. Any photograph submitted will be displayed (Oh boy) and we the public get the chance (or are subjected) to view it. (I certainly hope they have quite a bit of wine).
I love it when all these galleries get together and have openings on the same night….park, stroll and enjoy. Most of these will serve wine & refreshments.

LeBasse Projects features Picking Up Where We Left Off, a solo exhibition from Japanese artist Yoskay Yamamoto. As we all know, today marks the 10 year anniversary of 911. (I can’t believe it’s 10 years). I am going to try to celebrate life today and not focus on the sadness. You can always make a donation or come enjoy a BBQ right on the beach in Venice for a good cause.
From noon to 5:00 pm, stop by a BBQ benefitting the LA Fire Department Foundation & the LA Police Department Memorial Foundation, both in support of the families of fallen heroes of 911.
