In West Hollywood…

Pacific Design Center (8687 Melrose Ave.) has several openings taking place tonight.

Don’t miss one at Young Projects B230 who will be featuring two exhibitions. For the first show of the season, Young Projects is presenting a group show, Blastomere, featuring several large-scale installations, sculptural pieces and wall-works.

The artists include Ben Jones (US), Peter Coffin (US), Benedict Drew (UK) Laure Prouvost (FR), David Raymond Conroy (UK), Tommy Hartung (US), Jimmy Joe Roche (US), Joe Merrell (US), Dina Kelberman (US) and Frank Zadlo (US).

Subtitled, “Beyond Planet Claire”, the show was initially inspired by the controversy surrounding critic Claire Bishop’s article in Artforum entitled “Digital Divide.”

Also opening tonight is “Oil & Water” a solo exhibition by Marina Zurkow. The exhibition will feature a wide range of the artist’s digital works.

LA Print Space presents exhibition of prints from the Jerusalem Print Workshop curated by Irena Gordon. It is organized by Cathy Weiss and Ruth Weisberg.

Layers of identity: Prints from the Jerusalem Print Workshop investigates the printmaking processes of construction and deconstruction. The Israeli artists use the layering character of printmaking to express their complex identities.

Here’s a short synopsis of the Political thriller:  In Iraq after the fall of Saddam Hussein, love and friendship are as uncertain as the shifting battle lines of the civil war. Lee McGuinness, a trauma surgeon on a humanitarian mission, is also on a personal quest: to find her companion-in-arms, Martin Carrigan, who has disappeared under mysterious circumstances.
