Time for the Weekend Update. Keep your spirits lifted and try to enjoy the moment. The holidays are here whether you like it or not. So embrace it. I’ve added a couple more restaurants, to pop into, if you need a break….and ENJOY!!!

Hanukkah started on the 20th, the Solstice on the 21st,…and Christmas is on the 25th and Kwanzaa will be on the 26th. This week, I’m spending time with friends then family and more. Bake some cookies, break some bread and of course drink some wine. Take some time out. There’s always next year to get things done. Believe me, I know I need to stop and enjoy the holidays too. Mama needs a break! I am kind of over the cookie thing…I’ve baked a bunch!

We’ve got some fun events this week….but also take time to be with someone you love and go see some holiday light displays! come on, it only happens once a year. There are some Christmas and Hanukkah Events listed as well.  

Unfortunately the Griffith Park DWP Parade of LIghts has been cancelled this year….boo hooo! But don’t fret, there are plenty of private light displays that have stepped up to the challenge.

Here is a list of holiday light displays….I’m sure there are some great ones in your neighborhood too. Just get out there

In Burbank, there are several light display sightings….such as the 500 Block of Florence St., as well as the 600 Block of S. Orchard Drive Just north of Riverside Dr., and the 200 Block of N. Parish Place.

In Sherman Oaks, pop by the 3900 Block of Longview Valley Road, off Beverly Glen Blvd. There is a major display synchronized to music and broadcast on your car stereo!  Way  cool!

Now don’t forget the beautiful Venice Canals…..they always have fabulous lights.

The boat parade did already happen, see pix. by Gregory Dahl. We went to some fab parties….but you still have time to see the lights. 

The Venice Canals run from Pacific Ave to Ocean, and then between Venice, and Washington.

The best house is the house at Carroll Ct. and Eastern Ct. with its animatronic displays and dazzling array of lights is the highlight. They always do a great display for all the holiday!
