In Santa Monica…

Owner and gallery director Om Bleicher has invited guest curator Douglas Alvarez to continue with the second half of the exhibition series. Starting with “Objectified,” which focused primarily on inanimate objects, “Objectified II” brings it to another level, which will include both people and animals.

Bleicher explains, “There is a lot of variety in their disciplines from highly academic to low-brow; the theme of the exhibit ties them together in a very interesting way.”

Back in Venice…

For the first summer edition of the Venice Art Crawl, Dogtown Artists United will transform Shiloka’s Magic Bus into a mobile art gallery.

The bus will roll through Venice Beach and make multiple stops in front of the emblematic art crawl locations in town.

Scheduled stops are set for The Source (ex Hare Krishna Temple, Rose and Hampton Dr), The Gas Station, Windward Circle, Main St.and more.

Thur 6.20 VAC DogtownInside the bus, take in the black light lounge by Dogtown Artists. On the Roof deck, live music performances by Seeing Thingz, etc., also video art by VJ Theory and Thomas Williams

Then outside the bus, artists Mario and Shiloka will be doing some live painting on the exterior of the bus.  See their FB Event Page for details.

The Band Ship of the Rising Sun will be performing. Get your groove on with the tribal belly dance group Tanda Neelam Tribal Collective and DJ Nicholas.

Musical vibes will be spun by groovin’ DJ Niceman with a live musical performance by Charley & Jesi and friends.

To add spice to the night, Chef JJ will be sharing fresh flavored breads and Chef Edmond Choi with delicious food treats.

In addition to the artsy vibe, several creative vendors will be on location such as So Cal Mobile Spa massage, Shirley with Sitarz collection jewels and Sojourn Awakening Chakra body butter.
