DAW-520Size-logoThe Downtown Art Walk happens tonight….pick up some holiday gifts. This art walk happens every 2nd Thursday of every month. It started on a grass roots level, only to evolve into a full blown art/night life extravaganza. https://www.downtownartwalk.org/

Here are some or my favorites….The first one is a bit off the beaten path, but should be wonderful…You may want to park in this area, as the parking tends to be cheaper and start and finish here, cause the galleries on this side of town tend to stay open later. Be sure to check the Art Walk website.

The Phil Stern Gallery hosts an opening reception for David Flores and Phil Stern. This exhibition will remain open until February 4th. The reception runs from 7:00 pm till 11:00 pm. The Phil Stern Gallery is located at 601 South Los Angeles St., 90014; 213 488-0138; 

LACDA, presents a group show, “Snap to Grid: the UN-Juried Exhibit.” Also on display, is the work of artist Beth Rosengard. This is a large space and always has performance art and wine along with a wonderful festive atmosphere. The opening reception will be held from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Los Angeles Center for Digital Art (LACDA) 102 W. Fifth St., corner of Main and Spring. 323 646-9427; http://www.lacda.com/

Norbertellen Gallery will be open from 6:00 pm till 10:00 pm with their latest group show, CONVOCATION. They will also be hosting the DOTMOV FESTIVAL 2011, international digital film festival presented by Shift magazine. The gallery will show the festival throughout December and January with special presentations during the Downtown LA Art Walks (2nd Thursday of each month). Then right around the corner, The Hive Gallery, located at 729 South Spring St., LA 90014, continues with The Hive’s Annual “Price….less” $250 and under themed show. Artists featured from this group show are Catherine Kaleel, Roxy Morataya, Fikrie Oz, Josie Portillo, Michelle Romo, Daniaelle Simonsen and more. Crewest Gallery offers their Holiday Bazaar with custom toys, prints, paintings, and a gang of other cool stuff!This event runs from 6:00 pm till 10:00 pm. Crewest Gallery is located at 110 Winston St. off Main, between 4th and 5th St. (213)627-8272;

Cotrutza Gallery, a charming little gallery, presents “Memories from the Future.” Cotrutza Gallery is located at 446 South Main St. This opening runs from 6:00 till 10:00 pm. 213-622-0121;

LivingbylynneOr in Santa Monica, stop into the lovely shop, Living by Lynne.

Tonight the store hosts a fine art and trunk show benefitting Artists for Human Rights from 6:00 pm till 9:00 pm.

This event will feature the art by Ed Moses, Curt Gunther, David Hume Kennerly, Gisela Colon and more as well as jewelry, clothing and accessories. Living by Lynne is located at 1627 Montana Ave. 90403; 310 395-0707;
