Today, there are several artist talks….pop by Bergamot Station, 2525 Michigan Ave, Santa Monica, 90404….The Frostig Collection (B-5) holds an artist talk event with Brad Howe today from 1:00 pm till 4:00 pm. Brad will begin his talk at 2:00 pm. Howe’s solo exhibition of Kinetic Sculptures opened last night.

Curated by Kate Stern, this exhbit will benefit The Frostig Collection, a wonderful organization, raising money for social skills programs for children with learning disabilities, Asperger’s and high-functioning autism.  310-828-3535; http://www.thefrostigcollection.org/

Couturier Gallery, offers an artist lecture with painter, poet and illustrator DeLoss McGraw (b. 1945). The exhibition, “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star,” a show of new works on paper opened yesterday as part of the Miracle Mile Art Walk.

McGraw finds inspiration for this series of gouache paintings from children’s verses coupled with traditional, classical and jazz references. Also on display is the collection of one- of-a-kind ‘painted books’ that the artist has been working on for over three years.
