Taking place the last Saturday night of each month (June – September), the series will showcase more than 35 prominent and emerging artists and performers over four events. Tickets, including Series Passes ($95 for all four Happenings – $25 savings), create-your-own ticket packages ($25 each for two or more Happenings – $5 savings on each event) and advance individual tickets ($30), are available now at www.thebroad.org/happenings.

Summer Happenings kicks off on June 30 with an evening inspired by The Broad’s new exhibition, A Journey That Wasn’t – opening the same day – which explores artists’ complex representations of time, nuancing assumptions about linear time through rhythm, repetition, duration, artifice and appropriation.

July’s Happening continues the museum’s year-long exploration of the legacy and influence of Broad collection artist Joseph Beuys. In August, The Broad will present an evening featuring a diverse range of Chinese artists, from contemporary classical to punk and pop musicians, to performance. The final night of Summer Happenings in September will return to the themes of A Journey That Wasn’t, exploring how artists manipulate time through memory, appropriation and repetition.
