Save the Date….Saturday, June 9th and Sunday, June 10th, Santa Monica Auctions holds the Expo Auction, the most extravagant event to date….Due to the MTA coming to Bergamot Station….the entire C building will be demolished.  The Robert Berman Gallery, Santa Monica Auctions and Track 16 will all loose their longtime galleries.

You won’t want to miss this end of the line, blow-out auction, offering steals and deals like never before. Hundreds people are expected to attend this historic final auction, including celebrities, art lovers, and collectors.

For the past 18 years, art lovers and collectors have grown accustomed to the Santa Monica Auctions’ annual event. This yearly outdoor live auction has become a fixture in the now ever popular Bergamot Art Station, providing an exclusive low cost alternative to acquiring collectible works by renowned artists.

Showcasing mid-career and established Los Angeles artists of all mediums including painting, photography, sculpture, drawing, multiples and prints, Santa Monica Auctions has been independently owned and operated for 26 years.

Photographer and director Michael Grecco, (who has attended this LA ‘art happening’ for the past 6 years) says, “I love the auction because of the eclectic mix of art and photography.”

The auction takes place on Saturday, June 9th at 6:00 p.m. & Sunday, June 10th at 1:00 p.m.

See image to left, by David Bowie. Renowned works such as a 1970’s silkscreen by Andy Warhol of Mick Jagger (signed by both) will be included in this year’s auction. Another highlight is the very rare complete set of 5 hand pulled four-color silkscreens by rock icon David Bowie. Plus additional works to be auctioned by legendary artists such as Ed Kienholz, David Hockney, Raymond Pettibon, Pablo Picasso and more.

Preview is currently on display at Gallery C2 so be sure to pop in to see some incredible work. Gallery Hours are 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Tuesday – Saturday. There will be a late night preview on Friday, June 8th, 2012 until 9:00 p.m.
