The Santa Monica Airport hosts an open house…
Enjoy a fun-filled day exploring the airport’s campus, including The Museum of Flying, The Santa Monica Airport Observation Decks, Santa Monica Art Studios, the Airport Park Recreation area, on -site restaurants, S’cream Truck and more.
Special events on the day include guided mini-bus tours of the active air field perimeter, a display of vintage and contemporary aircraft, and mural painting by aviation artist Mike Machat.

TARFEST Music and Art Festival takes place today at the La Brea Tar Pits Park.
Presented by 89.9 KCRW and LAUNCH LA the event will feature performances by indie-rock bands Blondfire, Helena, Soft Swells, So Many Wizards, The Steelwells and The Makepeace Brothers.
Live painting by artists Greg “Craola” Simkins, Johnny “KMNDZ” Rodriguez, Codak Smith and Van Saro, with featured sculptures by Bertil Petersson, Tom Winter, Mattia Biagi and David O. Johnson.
The festivities will also include a Lagunitas Biergarten, a wine bar sponsored by Whole Foods and gourmet food trucks as well as fun social awareness and activities provided by Keep A Breast Foundation, Keep A Breast Non Toxic Revolution, The Pablove Foundation and Hoop It Up Worldwide.
